Prairie View Elementary/Middle School
PVEMS services students from the Otsego, Minnesota neighborhood. Students can attend PVEMS Kindergarten through 8th grade and will move to Rogers High School to finish their K-12 education in ISD#728.
The PVEMS Choral Department is becoming an exciting program in the Elk River Area School District and a staple in the Southern Cluster Choral Department. Students can choose to participate in the
6th Grade Choir
7th Grade Choir
8th Grade Choir
These ensembles rehearse on an A/B day schedule during the six period day.
In addition, 5th graders have the option to join the 5th Grade Choir, which meets twice during the six day rotation in addition to their normal general music class.
Choral Department Performances
All choirs at PVEMS participate in two concerts per year; one in December and one in early May. For each of these concerts, students memorize music, wear prescribed concert attire and perform in a public arena for the community.
The Metropolitan Opera: HD Live in Schools
ISD#728 is the first and only school district in Minnesota to participate as a partner in the Metropolitan Opera's fantastic educational outreach program. Through this unique and exciting partnership, students are introduced to opera, its history and its music, to the performers and to the world of opera production. This completely FREE partnership allows teachers in all different educational settings to utilize vetted curriculum that integrates this exceptional art form for all students. In addition, students are given the unique opportunity to attend The Met Live in HD performances at the Marcus Theater in Elk River for FREE. Please ask Mrs. Herfindahl for more information.
Prairie View Elementary and Middle School
The new ISD 728 Otsego E-8 School was the centerpiece of a $98 million district-wide building campaign, approved by voters in the November 2014 general election. The new school, located near the intersection of MacIver Avenue Northeast and 80th Street Northeast in western Otsego, will cover about 124,000 square feet and house hundreds of students from the southern part of the school district. It will also be the first building in ISD 728 to house early education learners, K-5 students as well as middle school students.
